One of the things I am proud to be a part of is the African Caribbean Writer's Festival. My cofounder and I in collaboration with the African Youth Initiative in Sydney held an event that platformed writers, poets and artists of the diaspora, connecting them with readers and aspiring creatives. As this was our first event, I was both a panellist and an interviewer, and did the closing remarks. All in a day's work!

It was a great day! Met some lovely people, ate some really good food, and got to talk about Dead Yard. It's not on shelves in Sydney yet, but I live in hope!

We also had two poets performing and I was in awe. Poetry has never been my strong suit so hearing these two talented speakers was impressive and very inspiring. We're hoping to do it bigger and better next year, fingers crossed!
